Abstract:
PURPOSE:To obtain an overload clutch having a simple structure, by forming a pocket for storing a roller in the intermediate stage of a three stage hub, and by forming grooves having width smaller than the diameter of the roller in a flange, and by urging the roller toward the flange. CONSTITUTION:A roller 4 is stored in a hub pocket 1' formed in the intermediate stage of a three stage hub 1, and a flange 2 is fitted onto the intermediate stage through the intermediary of a thrust washer 7 ad a bearing 8. A plurality of groves 2' having a width smaller than the diameter of the roller 4 is formed in the side surface of the flange 2, and a roller 4 is urged toward the flange 2 by means of a Belleville spring 6 through the intermediary of a plate 3 and a thrust bearing 9. Normally, the roller 4 is fitted into a groove 2' in the flange 2, but when an over load is exerted, the roller 4 comes off from the groove 2' to absorb the overload, and thereafter, the roller 4 is again fitted into the groove 2'.
