To provide a roller type thread-rolling round die with which a shaft- like member having a male-screw, etc., can be rolled by plastically deforming the peripheral surface of a blank to be rolled, by reutilizing a planetary round die which is used by engaging with the main shaft in a planetary type thread- rolling machine and to provide a manufacturing method therefor.

The outside member of the thread-rolling round die is formed into a new screw part by machining or grinding in a screw part reforming process 22 after removing the screw part from the planetary round die 10 by machining or grinding in a screw part removing process 21. After the screw reforming process 22, a chamfer, etc., of the edge surface of the new screw part is applied in a finishing process 23 and transferred into a fitting process 41. On the other hand, a core member is manufactured with processes 31-36 different from the process for the outside member and fitted into the hole part in the outside member in the fitting process 41 to complete the thread-rolling die for screw. In such a way, the outside member is manufactured with the planetary round die 10 used by engaging with the main shaft in the planetary type thread-rolling machine as the blank to be thread-rolled.
