To provide a roller capable of eliminating a clearance between a guide roller and a cam surface and enabling the smooth axial reciprocating motion of a roller outer tube rotating relative to a roller shaft.
This roller comprises the roller shaft 1 and the roller outer tube 2 rotatable about the roller shaft 1 and supported movably in the axial direction. A first cam surface 10 and a second cam surface 11 continued in the circumferential direction are formed on the inner periphery of the roller outer tube 2, a first guide roller 12 and a second guide roller 13 in rolling contact with the first cam surface 10 and the second cam surface 11 are installed on the roller shaft 1, and the roller outer tube 2 is axially reciprocated by the rotation of the roller outer tube 2 relative to the roller shaft 1. The roller also comprises a lock means 8 so that the position of the first cam surface 10 can be adjusted in the axial direction to the second cam surface 11 and the first cam surface 10 can be locked at a locked position.
