Abstract:
PURPOSE: To individually change over positions of respective roller unit bodies in a direction perpendicular to an axial direction and constantly rotate the respective roller unit bodies at the same speed.
CONSTITUTION: A roller 5 comprises a linear-shaped support member 7, a plurality of cylindrical-shaped roller unit bodies 13, which align in an axial direction and in which the support member 7 extends, and a position changeover device 16 for individually changing over positions of the respective roller unit bodies in a plane perpendicular to the axial direction. Connecting members 30 are provided between end surfaces of the adjacent roller unit bodies 13 for allowing relative movements of the two adjacent roller unit bodies 13 in a plane perpendicular to the axial direction but preventing relative movements thereof in a circumferential direction.
