To provide a rolling bearing, preventing the occurrence of creep, preventing abrasion of a housing if creep occurs, and stably keeping the bearing performance of the rolling bearing incorporated in a low-hardness housing over a long period of time by making prevention of creep compatible with prevention of abrasion of the housing to remarkably improve the creep resisting performance.
An annular groove 2c is formed extending over the whole periphery of the outer peripheral surface 2b of an outer ring 2. A solid lubricating coating 8 is formed on the outer peripheral surface 2b of the outer ring 2 outside the base of the annular groove 2c. An annular elastic body 10 is mounted in the annular groove 2c to be elastically compressed in the radial direction when the outer ring 2 is internally fitted to the housing 11. By this arrangement, the outer ring 2 is firmly fixed to the housing 11 by the elastic force of the annular elastic body 10, and if creep occurs, the engagement surface of the outer ring 2 with the housing 11 is lubricated by the solid lubricating coating 8 to prevent abrasion of the housing 11.
