Abstract:
To inexpensively suppress the generation of cracks from a circumferential groove of an outer ring formed of a steel material in a rolling bearing.
After an outer ring 11 is heat treated, the inside of a circumferential groove 11b of the outer ring is subjected to chemical polishing treatment. A thermal oxidation film formed in the circumferential groove 11b by the heat treatment is removed by the chemical polishing treatment. By removing the thermal oxidation film that increases susceptibility to cracks, the generation of cracks starting from the circumferential groove 11b can be suppressed. Since only the chemical polishing treatment is carried out, a cost in not increased so much.
