Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rolling device and rolling method by which a base stock can be accurately rolled over the entire length or in a part of the stock.
SOLUTION: The rolling device is provided with a pair of rolls 1, 2 to the axes of rotation of which are arranged in parallel a draft mechanism 3 by which the rolls 1, 2, are supported so that the gap is adjustable and a base stock feed mechanism 4 for feeding the base stock between the rolls 1, 2. The draft mechanism 3 is provided with a driving means 5 for driving the rolls 1, 2 so as to make them relatively close close by rolling load exceeding load necessary for rolling the base stock and proximity stopping means 6 for stopping the proximity of the rolls 1, 2 at a specified gap. The proximity stopping means 6 is provided with wedge stoppers 20 for stopping the descent of an upper roll holder 15 with which the bottom surface of the holder is brought into contact and wedge stopper positioning actuators 21 for arbitrarily adjusting and controlling the contact positions to the bottom surface of the upper roll holder 15 are connected to the wedge stoppers 20.
