To provide a rolling line for both a wide flange shape and a flat bar by which product quality equal to exclusive vertical mill is secured without installing an exclusive vertical mill for edge rolling of the flat bar or the like in a wide flange shape rolling line having a universal mill, which has simple structure, is easily manufactured and maintained and realized inexpensively.

This line is successively provided with a break down mill 11, a rough universal mill 12, an edger 13 and a finishing universal mill 14. Either or both of the rough universal mill 12 and the finishing universal mill 14 are constituted so that a roll group 24 for rolling the wide flange shape 15 is exchangeable for a vertical rolling unit 32 provided with an inner stand 39 in which the chocks 37, 38 of a pair of vertical rolls 35, 36 for the flat bars on which a plurality of calibers 33, 34 for rolling the flat bar 31 are formed are housed freely slidably in the direction of the opening of the vertical rolls 35, 36 for the flat bars.
