Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain a polypropylene resin composition improved in antistatic properties by melt mixing a propylene/alkenylsilane copolymer with polypropylene, an unsaturated bond-containing polyalkylene glycol and chloroplatinic acid while heating the mixture.
CONSTITUTION: The objective (A) 100 pts.wt. polypropylene with (B) 0.01-1 pt.wt. copolymer, prepared by copolymerizing propylene with 0.001-30mol% alkenylsilane (e.g. vinylsilane or allylsilane) using a catalyst composed of a transition metallic compound (e.g. a titanium halide) and an organometallic compound (e.g. an organoaluminum compound) and having 0.1-10 intrinsic viscosity (measured at 135°C in a tetralin solution), (C) 0.01-1 pt.wt. unsaturated bond-containing polyalkylene glycol, e.g. allyl ether or (meth)acrylic acid ester of polyethylene glycol or polypropylene glycol and (D) chloroplatinic acid in an amount so as to provide 0.01-10000ppm, preferably 0.1-100ppm catalyst concentration in the whole composition while heating the mixture.
