PURPOSE: To prevent sagging down and to prevent the bearing part, shaft part or the like of table roller from damage by forcibly, upwards bending the tip part of a material to be rolled after rolling by making speed difference between the circumferential speeds of each work roll.
CONSTITUTION: In rolling method of the reversing hot strip mill of this invention, the circumferential speed of a lower work roll 3 is made higher by α% than the circumferential speed of an upper work roll 2 just before the material 1 to be rolled is bitten into the rolling mill A, also the circumferential speed of the lower work roll 3 is reduced at the same time of bitting the material 1 to be rolled and the circumferential speeds of the upper and lower work rolls are made equal. The tip part of the material 1 to be rolled is guided onto a table roller in the upward state after rolling. Therefore, the tip part of the material 1 to be rolled after rolling isn't brought into collision with the table roller and is smoothly transported.
