Title:
ROLLING METHOD OF SEAMLESS STEEL TUBE BY INCLINED ROLLING MILL
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH09108712
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To prolong the life of a guide shoe, in rolling a seamless steel tube by a inclined rolling mill, by providing a water passage inside the guide shoe of the rolling mill and rolling with this passage cooled by water.

A crank-shaped water passage 10 is provided in the width direction internally of a plate-like guide shoe 2 used in a inclined rolling mill for rolling a seamless steel tube, with one end face 2a of the shoe provided with a water feeding port 11 and with the other end 2b a discharging port 12; cooling water is supplied through a joint 13 connected to the feeding side with the start of rolling and stopped after the elapse of prescribed time upon completion of rolling. The plate-like guide shoe 2 is nearly uniformly cooled through this cooling system.
