Abstract:

PURPOSE: To make the new installation of a device for detecting thickness changing point unnecessary with only an existing length measuring instrument by increasing and decreasing the rolling reduction of a rolling-down device in accordance with the plus or minus of deviation value between the target thickness and the current rolling down position.

CONSTITUTION: A material 1 to be rolled is transported from the left direction to the right direction. In accordance with a required thickness t1, the rolling- down device 4 is controlled with a controller 7 so that the detection value SL of a load cell 5 becomes the required value. The rolling length of a specified thickness can be found from the number of detection pulse of PLG 6 with which signal is generated in accordance with the revolution of a work roll 2b.
