PURPOSE: To reduce the heat energy, by providing a slab longitudinal cutting device in the opposite side of a rolling mill groups, which are placed in the downstream side of a heating furnace, in the extraction side of the heating furnace to make it unnecessary to heat materials again in case that narrow materials are produced from wide materials.
CONSTITUTION: Wide materials from a continuous casting machine 7 are heated in a heating furnace 1 and are extracted by an extracting and loading device 2 and are sent to a slab longitudinal cutting device 6. Longitudinally cut narrow materials are sent to a roughly rolling mill group 3 and a finishing rolling mill group 4 and are rolled and wound up by a winder 5. Thus, materials are cut longitudinally without being heated again, and the heat energy is reduced.
