To provide a rolling mill lubricant composition which exhibits excellent rolling performances, provides high gloss to the surface of a rolled plate, in particular, allows copper or non-ferrous alloy such as copper alloy to be rolled under a low rolling load, suppresses damages to the surface of a rolled plate caused by seizure (heat scratch) or chattering even when the plate is rolled under a high draft, suppresses generation of a roll coating and provides enhanced gloss to the surface of the rolled plate.

The rolling mill lubricant composition comprises a base lubricant compounded with 0.01 to 50 mass% of a diglycerol fatty acid ester obtained from diglycerol and a 6-20C fatty acid.
