This housing H of the roll stand is divided into a roll side part 4 and drive side part 5 with a parallel plane C between planes A, B. The roll side part 4 and the drive side part 5 are respectively divided into two with the plane A and the plane B. The plane A is the plane on which the axial lines of rotation of four grooved rolls 1 are present. The plane B is the plane on which the axial lines of rotation of the driving gears for respective grooved rolls 1 are present. The plane C is positioned in the vicinity of a point of contact of the pitch circle 20 of the driving gear with the pitch circle 30 of a gear to be driven and slightly on the side of the driving gear from this point of contact.
