Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rolling mill with rolls with which large load carrying capacity is enabled, whose mill stand is thinned and made compact and the periphery of a driving reduction gear of which is also made compact.
SOLUTION: This mill consists of a drive unit for driving a roll unit and the roll unit. The driving unit consists of large-diameter ring-shaped driving bevel gears 4 which are arranged concentrically with the pass line in its outer housing 3, an input shaft mechanism 5 for rotating the driving bevel gears 4 and transmission shaft mechanisms 8 for transmitting the rotation of the driving bevel gears 4 to each roll 1. The transmission shaft mechanism 8 consists of a small-diameter transmission bevel gear 10 which is engaged with two driving bevel gears in a caught state between them, a 1st transmission shaft 11 and 2nd transmission shaft 12 for transmitting the rotation of the transmission bevel gear 10 to each roll 1.
