PURPOSE: To reduce the time required for changing rolls by providing lock means to fix beams on a stand and setting up driving means to move the beams in unfixed state with guides in the direction front and in rear of rolls.

CONSTITUTION: One pair of beams 4, 4 are fixed on the mill stand 3 not to shift the position of the guides 6 in the rolling stage by beam lock bolts 5 and beam lock nuts 5a as locking means. Further, the beams 4 are joined with hydraulic cylinders 7 as driving means and set up to enable moving by actuating the cylinder 7 when the lock with the bolts 7 is released. At the time of changing the rolls of the rolling mill 1, the nuts 5a are unfastened to release the lock of the beams 4, the guide 6 and the beams 4 are shifted from the stand 3 by the cylinders 7. By this method, because fitting and detaching works are disused, the time for changing the rolls is reduced.
