Abstract:
A tool for rolling cylinders to the correct dimensions has a central mandrel guiding a number of rollers which can be adjusted in the radial direction. A support cylinder surrounds the mandrel and is coaxial with it. The workpiece fits inside the support cylinder. The thickness of the workpiece is reduced three fold by one pass of the tool. Direct thinning of the cylinder wall is made possible by the support cylinder.
