PURPOSE: To prevent the uneven wear of rolls and the transverse camber of a product and to obtain a rolling material having a good shape by providing a roll parallelism detector and a roll parallelism adjuster to a rolling mill.
CONSTITUTION: The roll parallelism adjuster 19 is provided to a project block 11 on an outlet side. The adjuster 19 is provided separately with upper and lower tapered wedges 14 and wedge adjusting cylinders 16 for actuating the wedges 14 to the block 11. The horizontal rolling position of the upper work roll 2 and the horizontal position of the lower work roll are respectively independently adjusted, the former by putting in and out the upper wedges 14 and the latter by putting in and out the lower wedges, in accordance with the control command from the roll parallelism detector 18.
