PURPOSE: To obtain a rolling mill capable of finishing a thin cast billet manufactured by continuous casting process into a hot rolled sheet at an inexpensive initial investment, by providing a pair of upper and lower backup rolls and work rolls, arranged by specifying an angle between the lines which connect the axial centers of said rolls and a pair of push-in rolls, to the inside of the same housing.

CONSTITUTION: Four rolls 21 for high rolling reduction and two rolls for pushing a material 10 to be rolled to the inlet of the rolls 21, are incorporated into a housing 20, for instance. The rolls 21 are constituted of upper and lower work rolls 11a, 11b held by chocks 15a, 15b and upper and lower backup rolls 12a, 12b held by chocks 16a, 16b. Further, the rolls 22 are constituted of upper and lower push-in rolls 13a, 13b held by chocks 17a, 17b, and the roll gaps between the rolls 21 and between the rolls 22 can be independently set by respective rolling reduction screws 18, 19. Here, an angle θ between the line L1 that connects the axial centers of the rolls 12a, 12b and the lines L2, L'2 those connect respectively said centers and the axial centers of the rolls 11a, 11b, is regulated to 5W45° to the inlet direction. In this way, a continuously cast thin cast billet having about 20W50mm thickness can be rolled under a high rolling reduction.
