PURPOSE: To obtain a titled mill capable of changing rolling rolls without providing an extracting mechanism to the mill by leaving one-side chocks of the chocks for supporting upper and lower work rolls and extracting the rolls suspended by a porter car in an overhanging state after inserting a spacer between the extracting-side chocks.
CONSTITUTION: One-side chocks 4 of the metal chocks used for supporting upper and lower work rolls 2 are fixed by inserting keeper plates 8, and keeper plates 19 for the chocks 5 at the extracting side are removed. The oval parts 15 of rolls 2 are inserted into the oval inserting parts 16 of a porter car 17 on an approaching roll-changing dolly 10, and the car 17 is retreated in a state of inserting a spacer 14 between the chocks 5 to extract thr rolls 2 suspended in an overhanging state. Thus the rolls 2 are smoothly changed without providing an extracting mechanism such as rails to a rolling mill.
