To shape a metal thin sheet material without impairing the shape of a fine etching pierced hole, etc., formed in a material by forming a press roll made of a hard high polymer rubber for one side and a metal for the other to a rough involute gear tooth form engaging each other in the roll axial direction and passing the metal thin sheet material thereby shaping the material into a ruggedness shape.
Press rolls 110, 150, which are respectively made of a hard high polymer material and a metal, are formed with a gear tooth form over a whole length parallel to an axial center and are engaged/rotated. A metal thin plate material 10 is introduced from a plate holder part 30 between the press rolls 110, 150, to give a tooth form, at this time, by pressurizing by a cylinder 50, appropriate tension is given. By this method, the metal thin plate material 10 is gradually formed with a rough involute tooth form one step by one step not to cause non uniform elongation, even in the case a hole of a round shape, etc., is formed to the metal thin sheet material 10, the variation of shape and the occurrence of unpredictable deflection/wrinkle are prevented.
