Title:
ROLLING REDUCTION DEVICE FOR FLOATING MARINE STRUCTURE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS61200087
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
PURPOSE:To reduce rolling, by forming jet flow along a surface of a submerged part of a floating marine structure by means of jet nozzles to thereby change two-dimensional separation bubbles due to the rolling into three-dimensional vertical vortex and generate a lift. CONSTITUTION:A submerged part 2 of a floating marine structure of a double- barrel semisubmergible type is provided with jet nozzles 6 to form jet flow 7 along the longitudinal direction of the submerged part 2. When rolling is generated by the influence of wave or the like, two-dimensional separation bubbles are generated at each of ridge portions 5 of the submerged part 2. However, the two-dimensional separation bubbles are swept away by the jet flow 7 injected from the jet nozzles 6, and are changed into three-dimensional vertical vortex 8. The vertical vortex 8 generates a lift against each of the ridge portions 5 to function as a rolling damping moment. Thus, the rolling of the marine structure may be effectively reduced.
