To solve problems that an ordinary coupler corresponding vertical direction movement in a lateral pin and corresponding lateral direction movement in a vertical pin cannot move in a rotating direction about a center axis of the coupler, and that a special coupling device having large parts count and a complicated structure is inferior in workability in disassembling/assembling a coupling device.
A buffer 2 is provided, which absorbs acceleration at the time of acceleration/deceleration of a rolling stock by acting positive/negative input on a buffer frame 12. A single spherical surface sliding bearing 7 is held by holding portions (12c, 4, 12c, 15) of the buffer frame 12 and holding portions (6, 15, 4, 20) of a coupler main body 11. The buffer frame 12 and the coupler main body 11 are coupled with each other through the spherical surface sliding bearing 7.
