Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the equivalent bending rigidity by evenly increasing thickness of the plate pressure of the only surface plate made of a hollow material, which forms a pier panel at a part between windows provided in a side structure, in comparison with the plate pressure of a surface plate of other hollow material, which form the side structure, in the longitudinal direction of a car body.
SOLUTION: A side structure is formed of a screen, which forms an upper part of a window, a waist, which forms a lower part of the window, and a pier panel 9, which forms a part between the adjacent windows between the screen and the waist, and formed by welding plural hollow members 11 to each other for bonding. The hollow member 11 is formed of two surface plates 13a and 13k and plural ribs 14 for connecting the surface plates. In hollow members 11b, 11c, 11d, which form the pier panel 9, plate pressure of surface plates 13c, 13d, 13e, 13f, 13g, 13h is evenly increased in comparison with the plate pressure of the surface plates except for the hollow members 11 in the longitudinal direction of a car body. With this structure, the structure having a high equivalent bending rigidity and a light mass can be obtained.
