Abstract:

To provide a rolling tool which can roll a worm on a first working portion of a shaft member, and also can roll a worm and a spline so as to coexist on a second working portion arranged coaxially with the first working portion, and further to provide a method for simultaneously rolling the worm and the spline coexisting on the worm.

The rolling tool 1 comprises a first rolling tool 10 for forming the worm w on the first working portion P1 and the second working portion P2 of a rolling blank M1, and a second rolling tool 20 for forming the worm w on the first working portion P1 and also for forming the spline s on the second working portion P2. Therefore, the worm w can be rolled on the first working portion P1 and also the worm w and the spline s can be coexistingly rolled on the second working portion P2 by plastically deforming the rolling blank M1 sandwiched between the opposed sides of the first rolling tool 10 and the second rolling tool 20 by relatively moving the first rolling tool 10 and the second rolling tool 20.
