Abstract:

PURPOSE: To decrease the capacity of the read only memory(ROM) required for storing data.

CONSTITUTION: The compressed data of source data are stored in a compressed data storage part 3, a read address imparted from the outside through an address signal line 4 for reading the source data is converted to the storage address of the compressed data at this source address in the compressed data storage part 3 by an address conversion part 2, and the compressed address read from the converted storage address are extended by a data extension part 7, restored to the source data and outputted through a data bus 6 to the outside.
