To provide a roof carrier to fix a loaded article on the roof of a vehicle which is simple in structure and excellent in safety.

A roof carrier is furnished with two roof rails 1 extending horizontally and two auxiliary rails 3 free to oscillate. The auxiliary rails 3 are oscillated to a position of article loading/unloading when loading the article onto the roof carrier. The auxiliary rails 3 finction as an extended part to extend diagonally downward of the roof rails 1 at that position, and they form rigid combined rails by being combined with the roof rails 1. A load ramp 4 is moved along these combined rails. The load ramp 4 is guided so as not to be tilted when moving along the combined rails.
