Abstract:
To provide a roof material having excellent harmful gas degradability, mildew resistance, and algae resistance while suppressing the deterioration of the base, and also provide a coating liquid for a roof.
This roof material includes the base and a photocatalyst layer formed on the base. The photocatalyst layer is obtained by applying and drying the coating liquid for the roof. The coating liquid for the roof includes the photocatalyst particles of a metal oxide which is partially coated with a substance having hydrophobic radicals or subjected to modifying processing, a silicone emulsion, and a water-soluble copper compound. The photocatalyst particles are higher in oxidizing power than in reducing power.
