To provide a roof tile which prevents the conspicuousness of an appearance of a step between the roof tiles when the roof tiles having a flatly-formed top surface adjoin each other in a direction orthogonal to an eaves-ridge direction, and which can reduce the phenomenon of making water flow in a direction orthogonal to the eaves-ridge direction of the roof.
In the roof tile 1 having the flatly-formed top surface, the vertical dimension T of a front end facing the downward-inclined-direction side of the roof in the installation of the roof tile on the roof is in the range of 10-35 mm. Additionally, an inclined portion 2 inclined downward in an outward lateral direction is formed at the at least one side edge of the top surface. The width dimension B of the inclined portion 2 is set at a value which satisfies the relationship expressed by the inequality: T/2B8T/5. Furthermore, the vertical dimension H of the inclined portion 2 is set at a value which is 2 mm or more and which satisfies the relationship expressed by the inequality: T/5HT/3. Thus, the step between the roof tiles 1 becomes inconspicuous by virtue of a recessed groove formed by the inclined portion 2, and the phenomenon of making the water flow in the direction orthogonal to the eaves-ridge direction of the roof is inhibited by the recessed groove.
