To provide a roofing material that can be stacked without forming a scratch or the like, in the roofing material having a rugged pattern on the surface.

The roofing material is formed with the rugged pattern 2 on the surface side of a roofing material body 1. The upper face of the roofing material body 1 is formed with stacking protrusion parts 3 protruded upward from the periphery, and the lower face of the roofing material body 1 is provided with protective members 4 in the positions corresponding to the stacking protrusion parts 3 when the roofing materials A are vertically stacked. The stacking protrusion parts 3 are protruded above the surrounding rugged pattern 2. When the roofing materials A are vertically stacked, the protective members 4 provided at the lower face of the upper roofing material A are placed on the stacking protrusion parts 3 of the lower roofing material A to prevent the upper and lower roofing materials A from rubbing directly against each other. The stacking protrusion parts 3 give appearance of forming a part of the rugged pattern 2. There is therefore no risk that the stacking protrusion parts 3 conspicuously impair the appearance.
