Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide a room temperature vulcanizable silicone composition having an improved low modulus that has improved adhesion without using a primer and storage stability and contains a decreased amount of a scavenger.

CONSTITUTION: This composition comprises (A) 100 pts. polyalkoxy-terminated polydiorganosiloxane in which the viscosity (25°C) is 100 to 1000,000 P the terminal of the chain of each polymer has at least two silicon atoms and alkoxy groups as terminal substituents, and the organo group is a 1-26C monovalent hydrocarbon, (B) 1 to 40 pts. monoalkoxy-terminated polydiorganosiloxane polymer wherein only one alkoxy group is present on each terminal silicon atom in the polymer chain, the viscosity at 25°C is 5 to 95 P and the organo group is a 2-15C monovalent hydrocarbon, (C) a diorganotin bis-p-diketonate condensation catalyst represented by formula I (R5 represents 1-15C monovalent hydrocarbon or the like and R6 to R8 each represent H or the like), (D) 0.1 to 1 pt. scavenger compound for hydroxyl functional groups, etc.
