Abstract:
To provide a rope for an elevator having a stable friction coefficient not depending on a sliding velocity.
The rope for an elevator includes a rope body, and a resin cover layer covering an outer periphery of the rope body and comprising a molded body of a thermoplastic polyurethane elastomer using a polytetramethylene glycol modified body having a melting point of 15°C or less as a raw material polyol component. It is preferable that the used polytetramethylene glycol modified body is a copolymer of tetrahydrofuran and neopentyl glycol or a copolymer of tetrahydrofuran and 3-methyltetrahydrofuran.
