PURPOSE: To obtain a nonpollution ropy material, consisting of a braided rope structure having a sheath part consisting of a fancy yarn with fuzzes assuming bundle-like form of fine fibers and core part and excellent in algae and shellfish proofing properties, by subjecting the sheath and core parts to processing of the braided rope structure.

CONSTITUTION: A ropy material of a braided rope structure is obtained by forming a fancy yarn having fuzzes assuming a bundle-like form of fine fibers by processing of the braided rope structure (preferably consisting of fine fibers of ≤5 denier prepared from conjugate fibers capable of being attenuated and having chenille yarn structure, crimps and 2W45mm fuzz length) and consisting of the sheath and core parts. A netlike material is obtained from the above- mentioned ropy material by processing of netting. Since the surface of the above-mentioned ropy or netlike material is covered with the readily swayable soft material with hardly any surface unevenness, spores or zoospores released by algae and shellfishes hardly adhere or readily fall off even if they adhere.
