Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide roselle tea remarkably suppressed in extremely strong acid taste which hibiscus tea has and safely drinkable in high volume without adding sugar, and to provide a method for producing the roselle tea.
SOLUTION: The roselle tea is made by roasting a roselle dry mixture containing powder of dry leaves of roselle and powder of dry calyx of roselle. The method for producing the roselle tea comprises mixing with the powder of dry calyx of roselle the powder of dry leaves of roselle obtained by washing roselle leaves in water, drying and crushing, and then roasting the product at 20°C-60°C for 2 min-10 min.
