Abstract:
To provide a rotary actuator capable of reducing weight of a shaft while securing bending rigidity of the shaft with respect to an impact load, and a vehicle seat.SOLUTION: A rotary actuator includes a motor, a reduction gear connected to the motor, and a shaft 20 that rotates by the reduction gear. The shaft 20 includes a final gear 15 to which rotational power is transmitted from the reduction gear, a first pinion gear 2A provided with a space with respect to the final gear 15 by a first distance L1 on one side 21 in an axial direction of the shaft 20, and a second pinion gear 2B provided with a space with respect to the final gear 15 by a second distance L2 different from the first distance L1 on another side 22 in an axial direction of the shaft 20. In the shaft 20, the other side 22 in the axial direction has a different diameter from that of the one side 21 in the axial direction.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 6
