To solve the problem that a preload variable of a bearing is limited to either a strengthening direction or a weakening direction, which has been a conventional problem of a rotary apparatus, and to provide the rotary apparatus that can give a wide variable range to a bearing preload by using resultant force of spring force and magnetic force for the bearing preload.
The rotary apparatus 1 includes: a slidable bearing sleeve 10 which holds a reverse output side bearing 9 and has a magnetization direction property in an axial direction; a reverse output side O side bracket 4 which holds the bearing sleeve 10 and is fitted to a housing 2; a preload spring 11 which applied preload to the reverse output side bearing 9 in the axial direction through the bearing sleeve 10; an electromagnet 12 fixed to the reverse output side O side bracket 4; and a current control part 20 which controls a supply current to the electromagnet 12 so as to generate the magnetic force in the axial direction between opposite surfaces of the bearing sleeve 10 and the electromagnet 12 and adjusts the preload applied to the reverse output side bearing 9 by the preload spring 11 through the bearing sleeve 10 using the magnetic force.
