Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To use as a cylinder of a rotary compressor a cast iron which is excellent in wear resistance and workability and made by using a sand mold together with a chiller.
SOLUTION: In a compressor using as a cylinder a cast iron made by machining using a sand mold casting method, the material of the cylinder at those areas where cutting work is required is eutectic graphite base (ferrite base F) partially. Thus the workability of a vane slot groove is increased and the amount of wear on the sliding surface of a vane disposed in the vane slot groove is reduced.
