Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the following problem: intermittent driving requires a huge motor or is difficult, due to great moment of inertia, because each of a cutter roller and an anvil roller is heavy in the conventional type of a rotary cutter capable of being intermittently driven so as to be capable of cutting Webs (such as paper and a film) to an arbitrary length and because it is driven in a connected state.SOLUTION: Such a cutter roller with a small diameter as to be shown in Fig.2 is used, and an anvil roller is separated from driving. Thus, moment of inertia is markedly reduced to enable a high-speed intermittent operation. In addition, perforations can also be formed in arbitrary positions in which they can hardly be formed heretofore.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
