Abstract:
To generate necessary rotation torque while suppressing an increase of a cost.SOLUTION: A rotary damper comprises: a hollow main body which is attached to either of a fixed member and an opening/closing member, and has a fluid chamber which is filled with a viscous fluid; a shaft which is attached to the other of the fixed member and the opening/closing member, inserted into the main body, and relatively rotatable with respect to the main body; a first partitioning wall extending in a radial direction toward the other face from one face out of an internal peripheral face of the main body and an external peripheral face of the shaft, and forming a prescribed clearance between the other face and itself; a second partitioning wall extending in the radial direction toward one face from the other face, and partitioning the fluid chamber to a first fluid chamber and a second fluid chamber together with the first partitioning wall; and a valve body which is detachably attached to the first partitioning wall, releases the clearance by a turn of the opening/closing member in an open direction, and blocks the clearance by a turn of the opening/closing member in a closed direction. A communication groove for making the first fluid chamber and the second fluid chamber communicate with each other at the block of the clearance, and making the viscous fluid flow therein is formed at the valve body.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 7
