Abstract:

To provide a rotary damper which is suitable to be combined with a coil spring of a vehicular rear suspension to be used.SOLUTION: A rotary damper 1 includes: a first case 11; and a second case which is rotatably combined with the first case 11 and forms a first annular space 13 and a second annular space 14 around the same axis O between itself and the first case 11. The first annular space 13 is filled with a viscous fluid 16 and sealed by seal members 15a, 15b which are respectively disposed at the inner periphery side and the outer periphery side of the first annular space 13 and fill a gap between the first case 11 and the second case 12 which leads to the first annular space 13. In the second annular space 14, a thrust support 17 which slides on at least one of the first case 11 and the second case 12 to support a thrust load while allowing relative rotation between the first case 11 and the second case 12 is disposed.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
