Abstract:
To provide a rotary damper that can suppress strain of a housing, and can attach a metal-made plug to a resin-made housing by caulking without lowering the fixing strength of the plug.
A rotary damper includes a resin-made housing 10 having a recess 15 formed on an outer periphery, a protrusion piece 23 to which a load is applied when caulked. The protrusion piece 23 has an edge 23a that is fitted into the recess 15 when caulked and a metal-made plug 20 with a bending section 23b that is bent by applying a load. The housing 10 further has a protrusion 16 that suppresses a compression stress of other portions of the housing 10, the protrusion 16 being deformed when caulked at a position where the bending section 23b contacts.
