PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotary damper which can accurately generate a desired attenuation force without being enlarged in size, and can change the attenuation force.SOLUTION: In a rotary damper 1, a groove for making a viscous fluid 18 circulate is formed at a part on a rotation path of a vane 15B being an inner face 11K of a bottom part 11B of a case 11. After a rotor rotates in one direction, and the vane 15B passes a resistance groove 11r, the viscous fluid 18 which is pressed by the vane 15 circulates between spaces 19a, 19b which are defined by a pair of partitioning parts 11L via only a clearance G.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 8
