To obtain a rotary electric machine which reduces the manufacturing cost without impairing the efficiency of the rotary electric machine.
A stator of a rotary electric machine includes an iron core 17 in which through holes 14a, 14b where bolts 20 are inserted are formed, a pressure plate 13 included in the outermost layer of the iron core 17 and in which insertion holes of the bolts 20 are formed, and insulative washers 30a, 30b respectively having holes 15a, 15b which are formed so that the diameters are smaller than the diameters of the through holes 14a, 14b. The insulative washers 30a, 30b respectively have recessed parts 32a, 32b that correspond to the form of tooth parts 11 which are formed in the iron core 17 by slots 10. A clearance S is formed between an outer peripheral surface of a screw part 21 of each bolt 20 and each through hole 14a or 14b with the recessed part 32a or 32b of the insulative washer 30a or 30b fitted into the tooth part 11 of the iron core 17 and the bolt 20 inserted.
