A generator 1 (rotary electric machine) includes: a rotary shaft part 7b; a rotor 31 including a rotor core 32 and separably attached to the rotary shaft part 7b; a stator 21 including a stator core 22 disposed in radial opposition to the rotor core 32; and a bearing part 51 rotatably supporting the rotary shaft part 7b. The separation of the rotary shaft part 7b from the rotor 31 enables replacement of the bearing part 51 with the rotor core 32 and the stator core 22 kept opposed to each other.
