To provide a brand-new rotary electric machine in which defects of SR motor and SP motor are eliminated while sustaining the advantages thereof.
The rotary electric machine comprises one stator 20 and two rotors 30 and 40 arranged, respectively, on the inner and outer circumferential sides of the stator 20 and can perform drive control of two rotors 30 and 40 by controlling a compound current being supplied to a coil 22 wound around the core 21 of the stator 20. The two rotors 30 and 40 consist of an inner rotor 30 having a plurality of permanent magnets 32 arranged on the outer circumferential surface of the core 31 to form salient poles and being disposed on the inner circumferential side of the stator 20, and an outer rotor 40 having a plurality of salient poles formed by magnetic cores 41 and being disposed on the outer circumferential side of the stator 20.
