Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotary electric machine in which a coil of an inner rotor can be prevented from being damaged without affecting vehicle running.SOLUTION: An ECU 3 of a rotary electric machine 101 has a first map M1 that: memorizes allowable temperature reaching time T1-Tn until a temperature of a first coil 12 of an inner rotor 10 reaches a predetermined allowable temperature Hmax when power with current values A1-An is supplied to the first coil 12; memorizes as current value areas Ar1-Arn, ranges of certain current values including the current values A1-An; measures accumulated time t1-tn during which power with current value belonging to the current areas Ar1-Arn is supplied to the first coil 12; calculates t1/T1-tn/Tn and calculates a total sum of t1/T1-tn/Tn; and if the total sum is larger than 1, stops the supply of power to the first coil 12.
