Title:
ROTARY ELECTRIC MACHINE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3808172
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce noise caused by the interference between the air discharged through second ventilation ducts of a rotor and first spacers of a stator by setting the intervals between second spacers of the rotor at the outlet side different for all the second ventilation ducts of the rotor.
SOLUTION: Each of second spacers 17 has a cross-sectional shape of a long and narrow undefined rhombus, with the end at the inlet side being tapered and the end at the outlet side being wide and having a flat face for adjusting the wind speed. These second spacers are located randomly. The distance in the circumferential direction between each two second spacers is the minimum at their central sections and the same for any of second ventilation ducts 18. The distances between these second spacers at the outlet side and those at the inlet side are difference from each other, the distances at the outlet side are different, and those at the inlet side are all different, too. Since the distances between the second spacers are irregular at the outlet side and a wide section at the end of each second spacer has an obtuse angle, cooling air flowing there forms a large eddy and therefore a noise component of 1 k[Hz] or higher frequency is reduced.
