PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve close contact between an outer blade and the skin and touch of shaving in a rotary electric razor having a swing type blade unit. SOLUTION: A pair of left and right opposing supporter walls are projected upward from the upper surface of a body case 1. A swing base is pivoted between the supporter walls so as to oscillate back and forth about an axial center P. A reticulate outer blade and cylindrical rotary inner blades 25F (25B) which slidably contact the inner surface of the outer blade and rotate about a rotational axial center parallel to the axial center P in a front surface side direction A of the case 1 are mounted on the swing base. A gear transmission mechanism 23 for transmitting outputs of a motor 14 in the case 1 to the blades 25F (25B) is mounted to any one of the left and right supporter walls. Urging forces for oscillating the outer blade and blades 25F (25B) together with the swing base in a direction opposite to the direction A are given by the machanism 23 in operation.
