Abstract:
To provide a rotary engine of high efficiency, capable of burning only a gas of a combustion chamber by dividing an operation chamber into a non-combustion chamber and the combustion chamber without disposing a special seal in the Wankel type rotary engine.SOLUTION: A cross-sectional shape of a rotor outer peripheral surface is elliptical, an elliptical dimension is determined to a dimension to have a flame-out clearance between the rotor outer peripheral surface and a rotor housing inner peripheral surface within a range of a certain specific rotor rotation angle. An operation chamber from the flame-out clearance to a rotation rear-side apex seal is applied as the non-combustion chamber, and the operation chamber to a rotation front side apex seal is applied as the combustion chamber so that only a gas of the combustion chamber is burned.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
